Job SummaryThe Public Finance Assistant/Paralegal will play a critical role in assisting multiple attorneys in various public finance matters. This includes drafting and organizing documents related to public finance transactions, such as bond financing transactions, and providing administrative support to the team.
Responsibilities- Assist in drafting and reviewing routine legal documents in Microsoft Word.
- Draft closing documents from start to finish, including resolutions, form filings, research and statistics compilation, and closing certificates and opinions.
- Manage the copying, uploading, and distribution of draft and final executed documents to interested parties.
- Act as liaison with clients and outside entities to facilitate transactions.
- Conduct final page-checking of final documents and final document transcripts.
- Draft closing checklists.
- Assist in closings by preparing, collecting, and assembling closing files, DTC letters, final resolutions and opinions, good-standing certificates, and secretary of state filings.
- Prepare and distribute closing transcripts to interested parties.
- Review executed documents to ensure proper execution.
- Follow up with clients and other parties to ensure delivery of complete documentation required for closing binders.
- Keep time records in Elite 3E of all billable time worked.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- At least 3-5 years law firm experience as a paralegal.
- BA/BS degree and Paralegal Certification highly preferred.
- Strong desire to work in a team environment without supervision.
- High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work at a desk for long periods of time.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to balance multiple projects.
- Ability to process routine daily functions while resolving sensitive issues and complex assignments.
- Must be able to work overtime if necessary.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn additional programs and processes.
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Ability to stand at a photocopy machine to scan and copy documents for up to 1-2 hours a week.
The salary wage range for this position is from $65,000 - $75,000, representing our good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of base salary at the time of posting. The actual salary offered may vary based on experience, qualifications, or other relevant factors.
