Senior Staff Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to join our rapidly growing medical robotics division at Globus Medical. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electronic circuits for intra-operative neuromonitoring used within our surgical navigation and robotic products.
Key Responsibilities- Lead system and product-level technical feasibility and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop hardware architecture to meet product functional and performance requirements.
- Lead development of engineering solutions in a mixed analog/digital environment including amplifiers, FPGAs, and embedded microcontrollers.
- Develop complex product verification strategy.
- Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Lead collaboration with vendors and procurement team to specify, purchase and oversee fabrication of prototypes and pilot runs of Printed circuit assemblies.
- Administer and implement design changes to bring the product to the regulated medical device market.
- Perform engineering analysis; conduct testing and data analysis on a variety of problems to ensure product functionality and reliability.
- Design, develop, document, and release protocol test processes and procedures based on test results.
- Lead, review, and produce documentation throughout the development life cycle of electronic designs.
- Reviews new technology for electronic constraints and safety risks and provides input on their mitigation.
- Facilitates and leads design reviews for new or existing designs requiring changes.
- Coordinates and leads development tasks with other electrical engineers.
- Leads hardware integration activities.
- Supports Production / Manufacturing, internal testing and external customers when presented with quality / support issues. Prioritizes work to identify the root cause and create a corrective plan that ensures timely resolution of issues.
- Recommends roles and responsibilities for other electrical engineers based on project resource needs.
- Provides a vision for technology roadmap and seeks alignment within leadership, peers, and electrical engineering team.
- Maintains compliance with standards typical of the medical industry.
- Prepares and conducts training sessions on topics that are technical in detail to the electrical engineering team for areas of development. Provides continuous mentorship to mid-level or junior engineers.
- Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
- Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
- Represents the company in a professional manner and upholds the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience designing, developing, and leading embedded systems or RTOS application software for medical devices.
- Experience in ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR part 820 design control processes.
- Demonstrated technical leadership for hardware development within the medical device industry.
- Familiar with IEC, IEC Electrical Safety Standards and design concepts required product certification.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and writing skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Advanced degree in an engineering discipline.
- Project management experience.
- Experience in digital logic programming using Verilog or VHDL.
- Experience in DSP using MATLAB, Python and or Texas Instruments development environment.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
