Job Overview

Avance Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Data Processing Specialist to join our Data Services Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing, processing, and manipulating customer data to ensure it meets production specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Management: Analyze and process customer data in various formats to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Automation: Design, write, and maintain batch and PowerShell scripts to automate workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Mailing Jobs: Manage direct mail jobs using software such as FirstLogic or BCC, including data cleansing, postal presorting, and output file creation.
  • Quality Control: Ensure data accuracy and consistency, identify gaps in provided documentation, and seek clarification as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of project progress and completion for future reference and compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members to improve processes and tools that increase productivity and quality.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to internal and external clients by understanding their needs and delivering high-quality results.
  • Project Management: Effectively manage multiple projects, balancing priorities to meet deadlines and production requirements.
  • Reporting: Complete project billing and reporting on time, ensuring accuracy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data processing and programming.
  • Strong logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing code.
  • Experience working with SQL databases, including writing and optimizing queries.
  • Ability to read and interpret job instructions, batch and PowerShell scripts, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective communication skills for working with internal teams and external clients.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Access, Word, MS SQL Server Manager, and Outlook.
  • Experience with additional software such as FoxPro, FirstLogic, BCC, and/or Quadient Inspire Designer preferred.
  • Experience in C#, JavaScript, and/or Python preferred.
  • Working knowledge of USPS postal regulations and the Domestic Mail Manual (DMM) is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingsness to work overtime when needed to meet production demands.
