Job Summary

The Patient Access Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective provision of patient access services, including insurance verification, patient registration, and financial counseling. This role requires strong communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits
  • Register patients and obtain necessary demographic information
  • Perform financial counseling and assist patients with payment options
  • Collect patient payments and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Document all patient account activities and maintain accurate records
  • Respond to patient inquiries and resolve concerns in a timely and professional manner
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience in patient access or a related field
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and PC software
