Job Summary:

The Adjunct Faculty - Lifelong Learning will be responsible for teaching non-credit courses for the Lifelong Learning program within the Continuing Education and Workforce Development (CEWD) Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Propose and develop course content, including detailed lesson plans, to engage students and meet their needs.
  • Provide course descriptions and learning objectives to the Program Manager.
  • Deliver instruction that is differentiated to meet the various needs and levels of students.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters cooperation and mutual respect among students.
  • Provide master copies or lists for instructional materials in a timely manner to allow preparation and distribution.
  • Notify the Program Manager if unable to attend class or scheduled meetings.
  • Submit class evaluations and other documents as directed by program staff.
  • Participate in the student complaint process as required.
  • Support the mission, policies, and procedures of Frederick Community College.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate certifications, degrees, and/or experience required to teach the course offered.
  • Previous experience teaching is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills necessary for utilizing technology in the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience teaching personal enrichment classes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
