Your Role
As the Operations Manager, reporting directly to the Branch Manager, you will oversee the daily functions and production of the organization, focusing on enhancing efficiency, productivity, and quality. Your leadership, coaching, and training will be pivotal in creating an engaging work environment for the entire workforce.
Your Contributions Will Include:
- Ensuring the warehouse operates at optimal efficiency, prioritizing customer satisfaction by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse personnel.
- Collaborating with the customer service team to fulfill and exceed customer expectations.
- Providing leadership and support to the operations team, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Managing costs associated with labor, implementing continuous improvement strategies, and overseeing warehouse processes relevant to your responsibilities.
- Applying operational expertise to devise effective process solutions.
- Assisting in the recruitment and training of new staff in line with operational needs and budgetary constraints.
- Supervising daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory management, space optimization, and productivity on the floor.
- Ensuring all daily orders are processed and dispatched according to service agreements and customer expectations.
- Working alongside the Branch Manager to implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identifying errors and addressing root causes with effective countermeasures, sustaining corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy work environment by establishing, adhering to, and enforcing standards and procedures.
- Driving employee performance by fostering a respectful, responsive, and results-oriented work environment.
- Exemplifying our culture and Rhenus values in daily operations.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- A bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Over 3 years of operational experience in third-party logistics (3PL) with a proven track record of operational excellence.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in a diverse multicultural setting.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement methodologies.
- Industry experience in Contract Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution, or 3PL.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities and a proven ability to innovate.
- Capacity to multitask and perform effectively in a high-pressure environment with strict deadlines.
- Willingness to provide off-hours support as necessary.
- Familiarity with Blue Yonder, Manhattan, or similar Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A collaborative team player capable of working with cross-functional teams and all management levels.
- Commitment to adhering to processes, policies, and standards.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as required based on operational demands.
