Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a focus on power and control systems to join our ground systems team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex system designs, working closely with other electrical, mechanical, harness, firmware, software, and test engineers to deliver fully functional products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop power and control systems for military vehicles, including smart power systems, edge compute, combat, network, and RF communications
  • Lead or support full cycle PCB design, including defining requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring-up, test, debug, and integration with the system
  • Develop communication architectures for CAN, Ethernet, and serial-based electrical devices
  • Plan and document power and signal interconnections between system components through definition of block diagrams and harness schematic drawings
  • Build vehicle electrical bench setups and HIL systems to facilitate bring-up, development, testing, and validation
  • Troubleshoot issues that span the electrical and firmware/software boundaries using lab test equipment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 6+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex system designs
  • General understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance
  • Hands-on technical experience with integrating and debugging complex power and communications systems as well as firmware-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices
  • Experience designing mixed-signal PCBs with multiple layer counts, layer stackup, and impedance matching for power and sensor applications
  • Understanding of low voltage and high voltage power electronics and control systems
  • Ability to perform power system and electrical loading analysis, simulation, and testing to determine optimal solutions
  • High competence using lab test equipment, including benchtop power supplies, electronics loads, oscilloscopes, DMM, logic/spectrum analyzers, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of MIL-STD requirements, such as MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-DTL-38999
  • Familiarity with military ground equipment vendors and rugged system component suppliers from past experience in DoD programs
