We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder to join our team at MedStar Health. The successful candidate will have a strong background in coding and classification systems, including ICD-10-CM/PCS and MS-DRG/APR-DRG.
Key Responsibilities:- Codes and abstracts Inpatient acute care records using ICD-10-CM/PCS and other applicable patient classification schemes.
- Utilizes clinical information systems, including 3M grouper and electronic medical records, to ensure accurate and efficient coding.
- Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and complete coding.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in coding related degree preferred.
- 3-4 years Inpatient acute care coding experience required.
- CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification required.
- Full-time, Monday - Friday, day-shift REMOTE schedule.
