Job Description

Magnet Medical is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team as a Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

About the Job

This 13-week contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in Charleston, South Carolina. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for administering radioactive substances to patients for diagnostic imaging purposes.

You will work closely with nuclear medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the proper execution of imaging procedures. Your expertise will play a critical role in capturing detailed images of organs, tissues, and bones for the detection of diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular issues, and neurological disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, ensuring correct dosage and safe handling.
  • Monitor patients during the administration process, checking for any immediate adverse reactions or complications.
  • Ensure proper disposal of radioactive materials in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment, including gamma cameras, PET scanners, and SPECT scanners.
  • Perform diagnostic imaging tests to capture high-quality images for disease detection.
  • Position patients correctly for optimal imaging results and adjust equipment settings to obtain clear images.
  • Interact with patients, alleviating concerns and explaining imaging procedures, risks, and benefits.
  • Analyze images, providing preliminary analysis and noting any abnormalities or relevant findings.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field.
  • Licensure: Current certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in nuclear medicine technology.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and attention to detail.
Compensation and Benefits

Estimated salary for this position is $85,000 per year, based on 40 hours per week and 8-hour shifts. Tax-free stipend amount will be determined. Magnet Medical offers a competitive pay package and benefits to its employees.
