Role Summary: The Retail Sales Representative plays a vital role within the Retail department at Hemline. This position is dedicated to enhancing the customer experience in-store through extensive product knowledge, maintaining store aesthetics, and building customer loyalty. Teamwork with fellow associates is essential for creating a harmonious and productive environment. Familiarity with Shopify is crucial, and all tasks are performed under the supervision of the Store Manager. The Retail Sales Representative exemplifies Hemline's core values and dedication to customer-focused service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit initiative and urgency in preparing the sales floor for daily operations.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by providing personalized assistance, product insights, and resolving inquiries to ensure a superior shopping experience.
  • Uphold visual merchandising standards by adjusting apparel on displays in line with established guidelines.
  • Inform and educate team members about merchandise standards, fostering a knowledgeable and high-performing team.
  • Develop lasting relationships with customers to encourage loyalty and repeat business.
  • Set, assess, and surpass customer service goals, including customer retention and satisfaction metrics.
  • Go above and beyond to ensure customer happiness, embodying a customer-first approach.
  • Inspire customers through an aspirational presentation of our brand culture and values.
  • Organize and maintain inventory on the sales floor, ensuring cleanliness and visual appeal throughout the day, with special attention before closing.

Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in Shopify for effective navigation and usage.
  • Understanding of user functionality across various devices, with additional Shopify knowledge considered advantageous.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities, demonstrating empathy, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to assist with merchandise carry-out and loading, ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
  • Strong support for retail customers, aiding in inquiries, purchases, and after-sales service.
  • Effective selling techniques, utilizing product knowledge and interpersonal skills to drive sales.
  • Skilled in securely and attractively wrapping and bagging merchandise.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment: This role primarily operates within a retail store setting, with occasional interactions in office environments.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for handling, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • May need to lift and/or move objects of moderate weight.

Work Hours: Regular hours are from 9:45 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 10:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, with flexibility to adapt to the dynamic retail environment.
