Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Collision Repair Instructor to join our team at Charles County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the art of collision repair, with a focus on providing a safe and effective learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging and informative lessons on collision repair techniques and procedures.
  • Supervise students in a variety of school-related settings, including classrooms, workshops, and labs.
  • Identify and diagnose primary and secondary non-structural damage in vehicles.
  • Develop and implement effective instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
  • Monitor and evaluate student outcomes, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
  • Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and community, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in collision repair, incorporating new knowledge and skills into instructional programs.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of experience working in the Automotive Collision/Repair industry or a Bachelor's Degree in Technology Education or other related area.
  • Meets certification requirements as established by the Maryland State Department of Education.
  • Knowledge of subject matter and appropriate instructional methodologies.
  • Evidence of exemplary human relation skills, organizational and planning skills, and ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
Working Conditions

The Collision Repair Instructor will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards associated with automotive repair. The successful candidate must be able to lift, carry, and move light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds, and have good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity.
