Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ochsner LSU Health System. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in assessing patients and performing routine radiographic procedures in accordance with prescribed safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Operate radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete timely quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Completion of an approved radiologic technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligible for registration within 90 days of employment
  • Current unrestricted license in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent may be at risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste.
