A Steward is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in our hotel's dining areas and kitchen. This includes ensuring the proper storage and cleanliness of all china, glass, and silverware, as well as assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities- Ensure the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and resetting dining areas.
- Prepare dining areas and kitchen for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations.
- Clean machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, and pans, mixers, etc.
- Unload and store deliveries, sweep and mop floors, especially in the event of broken or spilled items.
- Take out the trash and rinse garbage cans.
- Support other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks as needed.
- Report kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures.
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
