Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in the processing, preparation, and dispensing of patient medication orders under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately fill medication orders in the pharmacy, ensuring timely and safe delivery of medications to patients.
  • Compound and label medications and parenteral admixtures, adhering to professional standards and practices.
  • Perform daily ADC routines, including restocking, outdates, discrepancy resolution, loading and unloading, and adjusting medication min/max PAR levels.
  • Provide basic technical support for automated dispensing machines and other pharmacy computer systems.
  • Assist in management of drug supplies, identifying opportunities to minimize waste and optimize inventory levels.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Completion of a course sponsored by an ACPE provider, providing 40 hours of instruction and experience, and meeting Texas Board of Pharmacy requirements to compound sterile products.
  • Hospital experience and one year minimum sterile compounding experience preferred.
  • Current Registered Pharmacy Technician by the State Board of Pharmacy or Intern Certification with the Texas Board of Pharmacy.
