Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider

Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment. This individual will work independently, following established procedures and protocols, and will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer injections, immunizations, and oral medications, as well as start IVs.
  • Assist physicians by recording patient progress notes, issuing diagnostic orders, and transcribing orders.
  • Assist with various counseling and education functions.
  • Billing for patient services based on CMS and NJ State Board Regulations.
  • Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge and judgment to provide appropriate care for patients.
  • Develop plans of care for patients in coordination with multidisciplinary teams and complete appropriate reports to physicians and family.
  • Document and maintain patient records of services provided according to facility and nursing standards.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with other medical providers.
  • Examine patients to determine the presence of illness, utilizing physical findings, laboratory results, medical history, and ascertain the nature and extent of illness and prescribe treatments as indicated.
  • Interview, instruct, and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
  • Instruct patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  • Issue prescriptions to patients based on Federal and State Regulations.
  • Order and review appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Review all lab data and document.
  • Participate in the development of protocols.
  • Perform and obtain completed medical histories and physical data on patients with appropriate documentation and findings.
  • Perform independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
  • Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
  • Responsible for coordinating nursing and training programs on compliant policies such as HIPAA, OSHA, Code of Conduct.
  • Responsible for maintaining the quality and adequacy of nursing practice.
  • Review and audit charts routinely.
  • Suture wounds, incise and drain wounds, repair lacerations.
  • Work in collaboration with a physician to diagnose conditions as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Nursing required.
  • Registered Professional Nurse with current NJ state license; CDS and DEA.
  • CPR certification.
  • NP Certification.
  • Three to five years of work experience as a professional nurse.
