Career Advisor Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Career Advisor Trainee to join our team at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As a Career Advisor Trainee, you will play a critical role in providing employment services and outreach work to customers within a local workforce development area.

• Conduct vocational and career assessments of job seekers to determine career objectives, interests, skills, and abilities.
• Identify suitability for and/or barriers to employment and training, and provide appropriate tools and resources for job seekers to achieve employment goals.
• Document activities and services in the Commonwealth Workforce Development System (CWDS) and travel as needed.
• Develop and conduct orientations and workshops, plan and conduct group and individualized career counseling, and assist job seekers and employers with PA CareerLink Online enrollment.
• Work with employers to determine their workforce needs and address their recruitment and retention concerns.

• Four years of public contact work that involved interviewing the public to obtain, provide, and evaluate information concerning employment or employability; or a bachelor's degree.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
