Position Summary:

The Pediatric Nutrition Specialist will play a vital role in our Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis program, recognized as one of the largest in the country. This is a part-time position requiring presence in the clinic on designated days, with flexibility for remote work on an additional day. The working hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Candidates must possess prior experience in pediatric nutrition.

In this role, you will deliver exceptional nutritional care primarily to outpatients with cystic fibrosis and related complications. This will involve employing the Nutrition Care Process in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, respecting the expertise of each member. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, implementing, and assessing individualized nutrition education tailored to the needs of patients and their families; mentoring dietetic interns and learners; independently managing oral nutrition supplements; and providing enteral and parenteral nutrition support as authorized by medical staff.

Demonstrating advanced proficiency in specialized areas is essential. The role requires ongoing engagement in at least one of the following activities: developing and executing nutrition care protocols, leading clinical research initiatives, or contributing to other approved projects. Additionally, you will be expected to lead at least one significant contribution each year, which may encompass multidisciplinary projects, quality improvement efforts, or publications.

Qualifications:

• Must hold dietetic registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

• Licensure through the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency is required, along with Dietitian Certification. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is necessary, along with a specialist certification from an approved governing body.

• Alternatively, 10 years of relevant experience may be accepted without specialist certification.

• Candidates should consistently reflect the values of Indiana University Health, as assessed in annual performance reviews.
