Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will collaborate with the accounting team to manage and execute all aspects of financial reporting and accounting functions within the organization.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and record all journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
  • Generate financial statements and supporting documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, and various expense entries.
  • Conduct reconciliations for accounts receivable, inventory, and fixed asset accounts.
  • Lead audit processes, coordinating with both internal and external auditors.
  • Monitor and adjust patient revenue contractual adjustments, bad debt, and credit balances.
  • Manage fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Calculate accruals for various expenses, including contract labor and utilities.
  • Ensure timely deposits and maintain accurate cash records.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and maintain comprehensive transaction records.
  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain a running total of cash on hand.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Track capitation payments from payers for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Process payables accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Compile and analyze financial data to prepare management reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Oversee the accurate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes to meet financial reporting deadlines.
  • Oversee daily cash flow management and optimize cash returns.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis.
  • Prepare for financial audits and coordinate the audit process.
  • Collect and analyze financial data to maintain financial databases.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and the integrity of financial data.
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial tasks as required by management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of three to five years of experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with GAAP is required; knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Exempt, 40 hours per week.
