Job Overview

We are looking for a talented and experienced Culinary Specialist to contribute to our dining services at Lantern Crest Senior Living.


Position Summary:

This is a full-time role within the Hospitality/Restaurant sector. The Culinary Specialist will be tasked with preparing and cooking nutritious meals for our residents while adhering to high standards of quality and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook meals for residents in accordance with menus and dietary needs.
  • Ensure all meals are prepared and served in a timely and organized fashion.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation and kitchen area.
  • Monitor and document food temperatures to guarantee safety and quality standards.
  • Assist in menu planning and recipe creation.
  • Adhere to all sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Provide training and guidance to other kitchen staff as necessary.
  • Manage inventory of food and supplies and place orders as required.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Engage with residents to address any dietary restrictions or preferences.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chef or management.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Cook, ideally in a senior living or hospitality environment.
  • Familiarity with various cooking methods and techniques.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Basic math and measurement proficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • ServSafe certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
