Key Responsibilities
  • Glass Installation: Accurately set glass doors into frames and securely install hinges, locks, closers, and other hardware using a level.
  • Framework Preparation: Assemble pre-constructed wood or metal frameworks for doors and windows prior to glass panel installation utilizing hand tools.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and comprehend blueprints and specifications to determine essential work details, including color, shape, size, type, and thickness of glass, as well as framing locations and installation procedures.
  • Logistics Management: Operate trucks to transport tools and equipment to work sites, employing suction cups or cranes to maneuver glass panels.
  • Glass Replacement: Remove old or damaged glass before installing new glass panels.
  • Panel Securing: Lift, hold, and secure glass panels and mirrors in place using putty, cement, screws, or bolts.
Commercial Door Installation Duties
  • Replace existing hollow metal or aluminum frames with new doors and frames of similar materials.
  • Installation of metal and architectural wood doors is highly desirable.
  • Install door hardware on commercial doors and storefronts, including hinges, locks, exit devices, closers, kickplates, and thresholds.
QualificationsRequired:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with OSHA construction job site regulations.
  • Understanding of building and construction methods, materials, and tools.
Preferred:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective critical thinking abilities.
  • Capability to mentor and instruct others.
