Position Summary:
This role involves providing proficient nursing care to incarcerated individuals in various settings, including outpatient clinics and specialized care units. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation to ensure comprehensive medical records;
- Delivering standardized patient education within established nursing protocols;
- Transcribing medical orders and reporting at shift changes;
- Upholding confidentiality standards;
- Administering medications and treatments, collaborating on care plans, and ensuring infection control measures are in place;
- Assisting healthcare providers with minor medical and surgical procedures;
- Managing the ordering and restocking of medical supplies;
- Observing and reporting on the physical and emotional conditions of patients;
- Ensuring the safety and security of the clinical environment through vigilant practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a current, valid Licensed Practical Nurse license from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
Required Skills:
- Ability to effectively provide care in diverse settings;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Capacity to respond to emergency medical situations;
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in intravenous therapy;
- Experience in long-term and acute care;
- Prior experience as an LPN in a correctional setting.
