Position Summary:

This role involves providing proficient nursing care to incarcerated individuals in various settings, including outpatient clinics and specialized care units. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for:
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation to ensure comprehensive medical records;
  • Delivering standardized patient education within established nursing protocols;
  • Transcribing medical orders and reporting at shift changes;
  • Upholding confidentiality standards;
  • Administering medications and treatments, collaborating on care plans, and ensuring infection control measures are in place;
  • Assisting healthcare providers with minor medical and surgical procedures;
  • Managing the ordering and restocking of medical supplies;
  • Observing and reporting on the physical and emotional conditions of patients;
  • Ensuring the safety and security of the clinical environment through vigilant practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a current, valid Licensed Practical Nurse license from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

Required Skills:
  • Ability to effectively provide care in diverse settings;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Capacity to respond to emergency medical situations;
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in intravenous therapy;
  • Experience in long-term and acute care;
  • Prior experience as an LPN in a correctional setting.
