Position Overview

The Powder Coating Specialist operates machinery that applies and cures powder coatings on fabricated metal products, ensuring high-quality finishes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare cleaning solutions by filling tanks with appropriate chemicals.
2. Load the coating machine with powder coating materials.
3. Initiate the conveyor system and hang items for coating and curing.
4. Adjust the heating unit to the required temperature and activate exhaust systems.
5. Inspect finished products for compliance with coating thickness and visual standards.
6. Measure coating thickness to ensure adherence to quality control metrics.
7. Conduct soil load and pH tests on chemical tanks as needed.
8. Exhibit flexibility and a willingness to learn various roles within the department.
9. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

- A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with relevant training or equivalent experience.
- Ability to consistently meet quality and production targets set by the department.
- Adherence to the 5S Program for maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Availability to work overtime and weekends as required.
- Proficient in reading and understanding basic instructions.
- Effective communication skills for documentation purposes.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Capability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions.
- Problem-solving skills for standardized situations.
