About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavior Intervention Specialist to join our team at Apex Therapeutic Services.

Job Overview

This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for working with children and adolescents with developmental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. As a BIS, you will create and implement behavior management plans, provide crisis intervention, and offer support to caregivers and families.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop personalized behavior management plans to help clients achieve their full potential.
  • Provide Direct Support: Offer one-on-one intervention to children and adolescents, focusing on skill-building and behavior modification.
  • Collaborate with Caregivers: Work closely with caregivers, families, and school staff to ensure consistency and continuity of care.
  • Lead Group Therapy Sessions: Facilitate group therapy sessions to teach social and communication skills.
  • Maintain Client Records: Keep detailed records and documentation of treatment progress.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Special Education related field.
  • Behavior Management Certification: Valid certification in behavior management (e.g. BCBA) preferred.
  • Experience Working with Children: At least 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents with developmental and behavioral challenges.
  • Knowledge of Evidence-Based Therapies: Familiarity with evidence-based therapies and interventions for behavior management.
Compensation and Benefits
