Position Overview: Under the supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor, the Network Support Technician III will be responsible for various aspects of computer systems support and administration. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and respond to user inquiries regarding agency computers, including both hardware and software.
  • Ensure timely resolution of support tickets in accordance with established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Oversee maintenance, reporting, and training for the client database (SANDIS) and operational tasks associated with the AS/400 system.
  • Offer second-tier support for junior IT technicians and develop documentation to assist in resolving common issues.
  • Escalate complex technical problems to the IT Supervisor as needed.
  • Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless systems.
  • Monitor and enhance network performance, security, and reliability.
  • Install and configure network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within the network.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and provide prompt solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
  • Analyze network traffic and capacity to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and other departments to optimize network resource utilization.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations and equipment.
  • Recommend system upgrades and configurations for end-user systems and network equipment.
  • Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assist users with account-related issues, including password resets.
  • Provide support for mobile devices utilizing Office 365.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to agency printer networks.
  • Conduct daily operations to monitor, maintain, and secure agency backups for all systems.
  • Deliver training to users on the effective use of Office 365.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, along with relevant certifications is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in network administration or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
  • Experience with network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Equivalent to high school graduation with a minimum of 5 years of network administration experience and relevant courses and certifications.

Special Requirements:
  • Ability to provide reliable transportation during and after working hours, along with the necessary automobile liability insurance as mandated by law.
  • This position is primarily office-based, though remote work may be considered.
Note on Work Expectations: All employment at NBRC necessitates in-person interactions with clients, families, and coworkers. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of their assigned office and clients. While fully remote work is not available, a hybrid arrangement may be possible after demonstrating performance expectations.
