Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) specialist to join our team at Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, Florida.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in E3 engineering, with expertise in writing, interpreting, and allocating E3 requirements across all design levels. Strong technical communication skills are essential for this role, as the successful candidate will be required to present complex technical issues to both internal and external customers.

The selected individual will be responsible for designing ground systems, chassis, and harness shielding, as well as selecting and laying out interface circuitry to achieve electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Additionally, they will prepare and review E3 test procedures, reports, and analyses, and participate in cross-discipline design reviews for EMC.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with a specialty in Electromagnetics, RF, or analog circuitry
  • Minimum 14 years of experience in E3 engineering, with expertise in MIL-STD-464 or MIL-STD-461
  • Active DoD Secret clearance, with ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance after start of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mastery of defense and aerospace industry practices, with experience in programmatic skills supporting BOE, RFP, ROM, CAM, WBS, Risk assessments for E3 compliance
  • Extensive design experience with EMI filters, circuit layout, and analysis for E3, shielding, lightning protection, cable and harnessing design
  • Working knowledge of commercially available software for modeling and simulation of E3
