Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the nursing staff in our busy medical center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with direct patient care, including vital sign collection, documentation, and communication with the nursing team.
  • Support the nursing staff with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding patients.
  • Operate patient equipment, including manual and automatic blood pressure machines, pulse oximeters, and electronic scales.
  • Assist with patient treatments, such as repositioning, pre-operative hair removal, and shower preps.
  • Empty drains and collection bags, except for intracranial pressure monitoring drains and chest tubes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 16 years old with active pursuit of high school diploma also acceptable.
  • Completion of a Nursing Assistant Program from an accredited school, or successful completion of the MercyOne Patient Care Tech In-Training Program, or current CNA certification with state registration.
  • Basic Life Support certification and Iowa Mandatory Reporter certification required.
  • General working knowledge of computers and department-specific software, such as Healthstream and internet.
