Job Description

The Keller Independent School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to students using professional assessment skills, the nursing process, and established school health protocols.
  • Assess student problems, communicate with parents, and ensure appropriate referrals and follow-up as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and evaluate outcomes of skilled and direct nursing care and procedures for medically fragile students.
  • Serve as a liaison between school personnel, families, healthcare professionals, and the community.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program.
  • Valid registered nurse license (RN) from the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Current automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificates.
  • Certified by Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening.

Salary Estimate:$62,000 - $75,000 per year
