Assembler I Job Description

At Builders FirstSource, we're committed to helping you build a successful career. As an Assembler I, you'll play a crucial role in our production process, working with a team to assemble a variety of products, including windows, doors, trusses, panels, and stairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble products according to specifications, using a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Inspect products for quality and accuracy, making any necessary adjustments.
  • Operate machinery and equipment, such as saws, drills, and sanders.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, meeting production deadlines and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and improve processes.
Requirements:
  • No prior experience or education required.
  • Prior carpentry experience a plus.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Verbal expression ability to effectively present information.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to read tape measure.
Work Environment:

The Assembler I role requires standing for long periods, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee is also required to walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds continuously, 50 pounds frequently, and 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is continuously exposed to moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, and the employee will be required to wear ear plugs for noise protection as well as eye protection and other personal protective equipment required by the location.
