The technologist plays a vital role in ensuring operational efficiency and optimizing patient throughput.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Practice and Patient Care: Execute complex imaging procedures while adhering to established protocols and safety standards. Engage with patients to explain procedures and ensure their comfort throughout.
  • Equipment Operation: Utilize sophisticated imaging technology, including laser imagers and fluoroscopic devices, to capture high-quality radiographic images. Critically assess images for accuracy and quality.
  • Patient Safety: Maintain a high level of awareness regarding radiation safety and patient care during invasive procedures. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Interventional Radiologists to prepare for procedures, manage equipment, and assist during interventions. This includes preparing necessary materials and monitoring patient conditions throughout the process.
  • Administrative Duties: Document patient statistics accurately and maintain records in the Radiology Information System (RIS). Ensure proper coding for billing and compliance.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the availability of interventional supplies, placing orders as necessary and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in interventional radiology.

Qualifications:

  • Recent experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with a focus on Interventional Radiology.
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography or related fields.
