Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Midwest Vision Partners. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in the care of patients in a clinic setting, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their visit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interact with patients to gather information and accurately document their medical history, chief complaint, and present illness.
  • Conduct diagnostic ophthalmic tests and procedures, such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry, to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients.
  • Assist with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections, and laser treatments, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Educate patients on the administration of medications, pre and post-operative instructions, and general eye care information.
  • Utilize effective problem-solving skills to de-escalate dissatisfied patients and maintain a positive patient experience.
  • Stay current with the latest technologies and medications, and be able to answer general patient questions.
  • Assist team members and complete special projects as requested.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience and knowledge of medical terminology are desired.
