Job Title: Machinist

A skilled Machinist is required to join our team at Louis Allis LLC. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating various machine tools to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, horizontal mills, and drill presses to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies.
  • Manufacture new parts from prints or samples, ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Use hand-held and stationary power tools, including band saws, belt sanders, and hand grinders, to perform tasks such as cutting, grinding, and polishing.
  • Measure and inspect parts to ensure they meet specifications, using techniques such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Assist other machinists in the department with skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by the lead person, shop supervisor, and/or plant manager.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety procedures and protocols.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years' experience in a machinist role, with a strong understanding of machine tools and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and execute machined and fabricated parts from drawings/blueprints.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to maintain strict tolerances.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
  • Physical ability to lift, tighten, and adjust heavy objects, and to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and steel-toe boots.
