Soil Scientist

RETTEW, a leading engineering consulting firm, is seeking a skilled Soil Scientist to contribute to our GeoEnvironmental team. This role offers a chance to apply soil science expertise in a dynamic and exciting work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead soil investigations for stormwater infiltration and prepare technical reports.
• Conduct field inspections on stormwater BMPs during construction and percolation testing for on-lot sewage disposal projects.
• Log geotechnical boreholes and prepare log profiles according to the USCS.
• Assist in Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II subsurface investigations.
• Conduct environmental field investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling.
• Data reduction and preparation of laboratory data.
• Consult senior project staff on regulations and assist with permit applications.

Requirements

• Two to five years of experience in soil evaluations, environmental consulting, and geotechnical investigations.
• Degree in Soil Science or a related Environmental Science Discipline.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training a plus.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs.
