About the Role:

Aveanna Education Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavioral Therapist to join our team. As a Behavioral Therapist, you will play a critical role in supporting children with developmental and behavioral challenges in clinics and classrooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized instructional and behavioral strategies outlined in each student's Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP).
  • Work one-on-one with students to develop communication, social, and adaptive skills through structured and naturalistic teaching methods.
  • Employ evidence-based interventions such as Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Natural Environment Training (NET), and Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT).
  • Collect real-time data on target behaviors and skill acquisition using digital tools and software.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing detailed and accurate documentation for review by the BCBA and interdisciplinary team.
  • Implement proactive strategies to promote desirable behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Assist in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and applying Positive Behavior Support (PBS) techniques.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year experience working with children with developmental and behavioral challenges, preferably in an educational or clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of ABA principles and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to collect and document data accurately and efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
  • Experience with data collection tools and software.
  • Familiarity with Positive Behavior Support (PBS) strategies and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
