About the Role

GFL Environmental is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious CDL A Tanker Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently hauling liquid waste from customers to disposal sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and Operate a Semi-Tanker Truck: Safely transport liquid waste to disposal sites, adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition, and complete and submit the vehicle condition report at the end of each shift.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, responding to questions and requests, and notifying supervisors of any issues requiring attention.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean waste from the truck body, ensuring equipment operations continue safely and productively.
  • Logbook and Route Management: Maintain and submit a DOT logbook and daily route/productivity sheet as required by law and company policy.
  • Safe Operating Practices: Follow all safety protocols, including lock out/tag out procedures, to ensure proper truck operation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all relevant regulations, including DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA standards.
Requirements
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL A): Possess a valid CDL A license with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
  • Experience: Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate.
  • Age and Physical Requirements: Be at least 21 years old and able to meet relevant safety-sensitive function criteria.
  • Additional Requirements: Possess a valid TWIC card and be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate equipment.
Working Conditions
  • Environmental Factors: Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, and extreme weather conditions.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, and smell.
  • Visual Requirements: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
