Dental Hygiene Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at Premier Dentist Partners.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough dental assessments, including reviewing medical histories and evaluating oral health conditions.
- Perform screenings for oral cancer and other dental diseases.
- Administer professional dental cleanings, including scaling, root planning, and prophylaxis.
- Remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.
- Provide guidance on maintaining optimal oral health between dental visits.
- Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases.
- Collaborate with the dentist to develop treatment plans for patients with gum disease.
- Take and develop dental X-rays as part of the diagnostic process.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols.
- Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to prevent tooth decay when appropriate.
- Administer antimicrobial agents to control periodontal disease when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including charting treatment plans and procedures performed.
- Document clinical notes and observations.
- Work closely with the dentist and dental assistants to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in case discussions and treatment planning.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and sterile environment.
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
- Degree from an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Current and valid state dental hygiene license.
- Proficient in performing dental cleanings and other preventive procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, oral pathology, and periodontal diseases.
- Familiarity with dental instruments and equipment.
- Certification in dental radiography.
- Competence in taking and developing dental X-rays.
- Adherence to ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
- Commitment to continuing education and staying current on industry trends.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a dental team.
