Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team for a 13-week assignment. The ideal candidate will have experience in assessing and evaluating patients, developing personalized treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions to promote physical recovery and wellness.

The successful candidate will also have strong communication and collaboration skills, be able to work effectively with other healthcare professionals, and maintain accurate patient records.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assessment and Evaluation:
    1. Conduct initial patient evaluations to assess their physical abilities, range of motion, strength, coordination, and overall mobility.
    2. Review medical history and diagnostic tests to understand the patient's condition.
    3. Establish baseline data regarding a patient's physical capabilities to create a tailored treatment plan.
  2. Developing Treatment Plans:
    1. Develop personalized treatment plans based on the patient's condition, goals, and progress.
    2. Identify short- and long-term rehabilitation goals, focusing on improving strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance.
    3. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to develop a comprehensive treatment approach.
  3. Providing Therapeutic Interventions:
    1. Implement various physical therapy interventions, such as strengthening exercises, range of motion exercises, balance training, manual therapy, and modalities.
    2. Educate patients about proper posture, movement techniques, and body mechanics to prevent future injury.
    3. Provide guidance and support to patients performing exercises both in the clinic and at home.
  4. Patient Education and Support:
    1. Educate patients on the importance of following their prescribed physical therapy regimen.
    2. Teach patients strategies to manage pain and promote physical wellness through techniques like stretching, strengthening exercises, and ergonomic modifications.
    3. Offer guidance on lifestyle changes that may improve function.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    1. Work effectively with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients.
    2. Provide regular updates to the interdisciplinary team on patient progress and changes in treatment plans.
    3. Communicate with patients and families throughout the treatment process.
  6. Monitoring and Reassessing Progress:
    1. Regularly assess the patient's progress and adjust the treatment plan as necessary.
    2. Document the effectiveness of therapies and make recommendations for changes.
    3. Perform re-evaluations to track progress and modify goals.
  7. Documentation and Reporting:
    1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
    2. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance requirements.
    3. Complete required documentation for insurance billing, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
  8. Prevention and Wellness:
    1. Develop and implement injury prevention programs to help patients reduce the risk of future injuries.
    2. Promote physical wellness and functional independence through health education and the development of long-term fitness goals.
    3. Encourage patients to adopt a more active lifestyle and engage in exercises that will improve their long-term health outcomes.
  9. Advocacy and Community Resources:
    1. Advocate for patients to ensure they receive the necessary equipment and assistive devices.
    2. Guide patients in accessing community resources, support groups, and programs to continue their rehabilitation or physical wellness after discharge.
