We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to provide exceptional care in our surgical unit. This role requires a professional with a strong background in nursing and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Certification Requirements- Must possess a valid WI nursing license or a compact license from the state of permanent residence.
- BLS certification must be obtained through the American Heart Association.
- Ensure that all licenses and certifications are current throughout the assignment duration.
- Only candidates who can fulfill the posted schedule and express interest in the unit will be considered.
- Collaborate with a team of skilled nurses who possess extensive medical and surgical expertise.
- Work within a 28-bed unit that emphasizes nurse-led collaboration, providing care for a diverse surgical patient demographic.
- Gain valuable experience in airway management, including handling new tracheostomies, beneficial for those aspiring to critical care roles.
- Support and educate patients undergoing complex surgical procedures, including but not limited to Cystectomy, Gender Confirmation Surgery, and Mastectomy with flap reconstruction.
- Experience with tracheostomy and surgical procedures is mandatory.
- Preferred experience in gynecology, urology, plastic surgery, and colorectal surgery.
- Minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last three years is required.
- Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or a hospital of similar size is essential.
- Completion of a previous traveler assignment of 13 weeks is necessary.
- Shifts may be assigned across multiple units based on staffing needs.
- If the primary unit's needs change, shifts will be reassigned to ensure contract completion.
- Basic Arrhythmia experience is required.
- Passing the UW Health Telemetry test is a prerequisite before starting.
