Assistant Softball Coach

Job Summary

The Assistant Women's Softball Coach will assist the Head Women's Softball Coach in organizing and administering the women's softball program. This includes developing a competitive NCAA Division I softball program while emphasizing the academic success of student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit student-athletes in accordance with NCAA regulations and academic standards.
  • Monitor the academics of women's softball student-athletes and communicate with the Athletics Academic Advisor.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating in-season practices, including team and individual workouts.
  • Develop the skillset of catchers and infielders.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating out-of-season practices, including individual skill instruction and team workouts.
  • Develop game plans for each game, including scouting reports of opponents.
  • Complete necessary compliance forms as required.
  • Schedule games as directed by the Head Coach.
  • Monitor the program's budget to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Participate in fundraising activities for the women's softball program.
  • Be actively engaged within the University and surrounding communities.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree, outstanding verbal communication and leadership skills, and intercollegiate competitive experience. A Master's Degree and two or more years of collegiate coaching experience are preferred.
