How to be Successful in the Role:
Deliver exceptional customer service to fellow County employees and building tenants. Work as part of a custodial team responsible for maintaining the County's floor and carpet care program, focusing on public areas and office spaces. You will perform independent tasks in smaller areas and collaborate with team members on larger projects. General housekeeping duties may also be required as needed.

The Cleaner 1 plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness of floors and carpets, contributing to a welcoming and professional environment while promoting the health of building occupants. Regular cleaning and maintenance of surfaces enhance indoor air quality and extend the lifespan of facilities, ultimately saving costs for the County. This position aligns with our department's mission to preserve facilities and enhance the well-being of our community.

Training Provided:

Facilities Management custodians undergo training and certification through the International Sanitary Supply Association's Cleaning Management Institute, covering both general and advanced cleaning techniques. New employees will begin their training within the first year and progress through the certification process. Additionally, an internal trainer certified by the Cleaning Management Institute will provide specialized training on cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals to keep our team updated with industry advancements.

This position requires a 40-hour work week, typically Monday through Friday during the day, with occasional evening and weekend shifts.

Core Daily Responsibilities:
  • Prepare for the day's assignments by organizing your equipment and tools.
  • Work independently or collaboratively, understanding your role within the team.
  • Complete assigned tasks and report progress to your custodial lead.
  • Conclude your workday by cleaning and storing your equipment and finalizing work orders.
