Manager of Strategic Pricing
Job Summary:The Manager of Strategic Pricing will lead the development and execution of pricing strategies to optimize profitability and market competitiveness. This role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, cost structures, and customer value perception.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop Pricing Strategies: Design and implement pricing strategies that enhance profitability, increase market share, and support the company's overall business goals.
- Market Analysis: Conduct detailed market research to understand pricing trends, competitor pricing, and customer behavior. Use insights to guide pricing decisions.
- Data Analysis: Utilize advanced analytics to assess the impact of pricing changes on revenue, margin, and sales volume. Continuously monitor and adjust pricing strategies based on performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, sales, finance, and marketing teams to ensure pricing strategies are aligned with product positioning and market conditions.
- Pricing Models: Develop and maintain complex pricing models that consider factors such as cost, competition, value perception, and demand elasticity.
- Pricing Governance: Establish and maintain pricing policies, guidelines, and processes to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
- Financial Impact Assessment: Analyze and report on the financial impact of pricing strategies and decisions, including the development of business cases for proposed pricing changes.
- Competitive Intelligence: Monitor and report on competitor pricing strategies and adjust company pricing accordingly to maintain competitive advantage.
- Pricing Tools & Systems: Implement and manage pricing tools and software that support pricing analysis and decision-making processes.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of pricing analysts and professionals to achieve departmental goals.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in pricing, finance, or related fields, with at least 4 years in strategic pricing, competitive analysis, and financial modeling is essential.
- Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills with expertise in financial modeling and data analysis. Excellent understanding of pricing strategies, market research, and competitive analysis. Proficiency in pricing software and tools, such as price optimization platforms. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
