New Millennium is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineering Intern to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural steel solutions for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design steel joists, joist girders, and steel decking according to industry standards and codes.
  • Develop roof and floor designs for retail buildings, schools, warehouses, and other commercial projects.
  • Provide engineering direction to detailing, design, sales, and production departments.
  • Interpret contract documents and communicate with architects, engineers of record, fabricators, and other stakeholders.
  • Become conversant in AISC, AISI, SJI, and SDI codes and specifications.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support the engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of education completed toward a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a strong interest in Structural Engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior work experience is preferred.
