3D Artist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled 3D Artist to join our team at Meta, where you will play a critical role in building world-class products that push the boundaries of virtual spaces. As a key member of our VR organization, you will collaborate with a wide range of disciplines to ideate, improve art pipelines, and build assets that define the future of VR.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate a product vision and content development strategy by integrating data, usability studies, research, market analysis, and creative input.

• Drive the success and quality of the content creation, collaborating with producer partners to manage content acquisition and delivery.

• Work closely with partnering Product Manager to recommend and drive content strategy that feeds the overall product success.

• Use persuasive communication to the right audience to get buy-in and feedback.

• Understand Meta's strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are aligned with our mission and recognized best in the industry.

• Lead a cross-functional team developing procedural content pipelines following a specific artistic style.

• Drive the development of a world creation process and translate that model to an outsource-based model for scaling content production.

• Proactive in problem solving, prioritization, risk assessment, and effective information distribution.

Requirements:

• Extensive and demonstrable experience using Houdini to generate spatial layouts and environment assets.

• Directly contributed to art leadership and strategy for 2+ shipped products or 5+ years live ops experience.

• Experience driving content creation for multi-medium projects with real-time 3D pipelines.

• Technical understanding of building and ingesting 3D environments, either through hands-on experience as an Artist/Art Director.

• Experience using data to identify problems and communicate solutions.

• Expert knowledge of Maya for environment content creation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a consumer-focused technology company.

• Experience building 0-1 products, platform/ecosystem products, or marketplaces.

• Experience in AR/VR.

Compensation and Benefits:

$149,000/year to $205,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
