Job Description

Stantec is seeking an entry-level Environmental Remediation Specialist to support our team of environmental professionals in Lombard, IL.

About the Job

This role involves assisting in the completion of project-level work to support environmental investigation and remediation projects. The primary responsibilities include performing key tasks to support field implementation of assessment plans.

  • Perform and document field data collection activities (including oversight of subcontractors)
  • Assist in the completion of project-level work (data management, report preparation) on environmental remediation/management projects for commercial/industrial clients
  • Conduct multi-media sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil gas, indoor air)
  • Oversee advancement of soil and rock borings, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, manage subcontractors and minor soil excavation projects
  • Prepare soil boring log and well construction diagrams
  • Learn and follow standard operating procedures for work assigned
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze field and technical data
  • Draft technical reports
  • Complete applicable company and client required health & safety training (including OSHA required training) and follow health & safety policies and procedures
  • Work will be conducted under the supervision of a project manager or a field team leader
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong educational background in geology/hydrogeology, environmental science, engineering, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have 0-1 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry.

  • A Bachelor's degree in geology/hydrogeology, environmental science, engineering, or related field.
  • 0-1 years of environmental consulting industry experience

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
