Openwork is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Specialist to join our growing team.
In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our employees and ensuring a positive work environment. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, training & development, performance management, and employee engagement.
Your Responsibilities:- Staffing:
- Warmly welcome candidates and guide them through the interview process.
- Assist in preparing job offers, including background checks and drug screenings.
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation programs.
- Verify new hire I-9 information for accuracy.
- Assign peer coaches to support new employees.
- Collaborate with management to address staffing needs and adjustments.
- Review, submit, and approve employee time records for payroll processing.
- Provide assistance with employee benefit administration.
- Training & Development:
- Schedule and coordinate employee training sessions and orientation programs.
- Monitor training completion to ensure timely fulfillment of required learning modules.
- Administer the Learning Management System (LMS) as needed.
- Manage and oversee the new employee coach program, including follow-up and administration.
- Performance Management:
- Establish and maintain a robust employee performance review process.
- Partner with management teams to develop personalized development plans for employees.
- Employee Engagement:
- Coordinate the distribution of service awards and track recognition programs.
- Organize town hall meetings and facilitate action planning initiatives.
- Maintain a welcoming and organized environment in common areas, including break rooms, training rooms, and communication boards.
- Direct employees to appropriate resources and partners as needed.
- Ensure accurate documentation of current Affirmative Action Program, Accommodation Interactive Process, and other compliance-related programs.
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2+ years of relevant HR experience.
- Bilingual abilities (Spanish) are a significant asset.
- Proven ability to lead through influence without formal authority.
- Strong sense of accountability and initiative.
- Advanced problem-solving skills with a history of making sound decisions.
- Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and ensure superior service delivery.
