TEAM STRUCTURE

In recent years, Acrisure has expanded its international presence, establishing a dedicated professional team based in Grand Rapids. This expansion has occurred through both organic growth and mergers & acquisitions, with a substantial pipeline of future acquisitions anticipated. The International finance team is now seeking an additional proactive Senior Accountant to support the expanding portfolio of businesses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Duties:
  • Accurately execute month-end tasks, including trial balances, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist the Manager with monthly reporting and month-end reviews, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Support data compilation for statutory tax filings and quarterly/annual corporate tax submissions.
  • Contribute to team efforts by undertaking ad hoc financial projects as required.
  • Manage workload to ensure all activities are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Demonstrate ownership of tasks and projects from initiation to completion.
  • Exhibit adaptability in learning team processes independently.
  • Review processes to identify necessary tasks and timelines for completion.
  • Handle complex tasks and larger volumes of work for the team and Agency Partners.
  • Acquire knowledge of all functional areas within the team.
  • Investigate and resolve issues as necessary or on a regular basis.
  • Proactively seek improvements in processes and team responsibilities.
  • Comply with all systems, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Research and post GAAP conversion entries as needed, such as IFRS to US GAAP adjustments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Agency Partners and Corporate Accounting team members.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Must be able to work on-site at Acrisure's Grand Rapids location at least three days per week.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required (CPA preferred, but not mandatory).
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in the accounting field is essential.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Prior experience with various ERP systems is required.
    • Experience with Workday ERP and Alteryx is preferred but not essential.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Able to work independently while enjoying collaboration with team members.
    • Contribute to a collaborative global environment by demonstrating teamwork, motivation, and a positive attitude.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to actively listen and solve problems with minimal guidance.
    • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.

  • Technical Accounting Skills:
    • Knowledge of Financial Statement Consolidations is preferred but not required.
    • Proficient in US GAAP is required.
    • Knowledge of IFRS and Foreign Currency Translation is preferred but not mandatory.
