At SSM Health, we're dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of nuclear medicine. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN 4, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately.
  • Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or completion of a Nuclear Medicine certification program.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Rare kneeling and sitting.
Required Professional Licenses and/or Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) Certification and Registration - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
