About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned leader to head the Quality Engineering organization for Commerce & Growth at Apple. This role will oversee a team of 100+ full-time employees who develop quality engineering systems and tests.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead a team of quality engineers to develop and implement quality engineering systems and tests.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality and excellence in our products and services.
  3. Develop and implement processes and tools to improve quality and efficiency.
  4. Recruit, develop, and lead a team of quality engineers.
  5. Work closely with engineering teams to ensure quality and reliability of our products and services.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and communication.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in quality engineering.
Requirements
  1. 5+ years of experience leading quality teams.
  2. Experience leading large technical organizations.
  3. Versed in the practice of QA/QE and track record of improving quality through processes, systems, and automation.
  4. Strong technical leadership and keen architecture sense.
  5. Capacity to engage in deep technical detail yet move fluidly into big-picture thinking.
  6. Honed practice of recruiting and developing leaders, setting clear direction and goals, and establishing effective teams.
  7. Experience leading distributed teams across cultures, geography, and timezones.
  8. High value for teamwork, collaboration, and driving cross-functional alignment.
  9. Strong practice of stakeholder management.
  10. Ability to drive clarity in the midst of ambiguity.
  11. Superb communication skills: ability to convey complicated concepts concisely and tailor messaging to different audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience testing server-side systems.
  2. Experience planning and leading software release cycles.
  3. Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics.
