Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Maintenance Plans: Create and execute maintenance plans to ensure the high standards of railcar repair are met, including labor standard hours and established customer and company quality standards.
- Oversee Departmental Activities: Direct all departmental related activities to ensure all production goals are met, including managing employee workforce levels to minimize overhead and raw materials.
- Ensure a Safe and Orderly Work Environment: Ensure a safe and orderly work environment free of slip/trip hazards while maintaining compliance to meet or exceed all site and regulatory safety requirements.
- Manage Departmental Maintenance Activities: Manage all departmental maintenance activities, staffing requirements, and operational supply usages.
- Communicate Goals and Objectives: Communicate goals and objectives, apply company policies, coach, administer discipline, and ensure positive employee relations.
- High School Education or Equivalent: A high school education or equivalent is required.
- Management Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in railcar repair and/or related industry.
- Intermediate Proficiency in Computer Applications: Intermediate proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to Collaborate and Communicate Professionally: Ability to collaborate and communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to Find Solutions to Complex Issues: Ability to find solutions to complex issues, including quickly assessing options and implementing solutions.
- Ability to Recognize and Mitigate Risk: Ability to recognize and mitigate risk.
