Position Summary:

As the Construction Plumbing Superintendent, you will be instrumental in directing and managing all plumbing functions on our construction sites. Your extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, coupled with your leadership capabilities, will guarantee that our projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and uphold the highest quality standards. This role requires a hands-on approach, where you will actively engage in project tasks while also providing guidance to your team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate plumbing operations on various construction projects.
  • Lead and develop a team of professional plumbers, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including managers and architects, to meet project objectives.
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints and specifications for accurate plumbing installations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to assess project progress and adherence to building codes.
  • Address and resolve plumbing challenges that may arise during the construction process.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reporting.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate with the Contractors Superintendent to keep project schedules updated.
  • Ensure availability of necessary materials for each job, collaborating with the Warehouse Manager.
  • Organize rental equipment as required.
  • Oversee field supervision, focusing on quality, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
  • Direct the work schedules of Construction Technicians and provide onsite leadership.
  • Assist Service Technicians in troubleshooting onsite challenges.
  • Monitor project timelines to ensure on-schedule completion.
  • Facilitate inspections with relevant authorities on job sites.
  • Communicate project-related issues to upper management as necessary.
  • Foster teamwork across all departments within the company.
  • Adhere to company policies and maintain an acceptable attendance record.

Organizational Structure:

  • Report directly to the Vice President of Construction/Estimator.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager and Warehouse Manager.

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years in plumbing roles.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Thorough understanding of plumbing products and local codes.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage personnel effectively.
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting construction blueprints.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Windows.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Working Environment:

  • Ability to endure extended periods of walking or standing.
  • Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel to different job sites as needed.
