Job Summary

The Security Officer functions in an unarmed security post for OSF HealthCare campuses, ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff. This role involves conducting unarmed patrols, monitoring alarm systems, assisting in investigations, and deterring criminal activity and misconduct.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct unarmed patrols of OSF HealthCare campuses to ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Monitor alarm systems and respond to security incidents in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist in investigations and gather evidence to support incident reports
  • Deter criminal activity and misconduct through visible presence and proactive measures
Requirements
  • Current State Driver's License
  • BLS (American Heart Association) certification within 90 days of hire
  • International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) within 1 year of hire
  • National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 1 year of hire
  • LCMMC: Active FOID Card
  • Service with a police department or active military, military reserves or National Guard, and/or 1 year security experience or customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree
  • Service with a police department or active military, military reserves or National Guard, and/or 3 years security experience
  • International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) Advanced Certification
